Relocating from Nantucket Island to Omaha, NE a year ago presented a painting challenge. Color, light and edges all had to be re-learned, my sense of distance re-calibrated.

In Nebraska, everything from traffic lights to grasslands provide features that astound my sense of space. Edges are sharper, color more saturated, the sky broader. The land itself still possesses a newer, more raw quality. Nebraska feels vast.
