Abstract painting gives me the ability to transform my emotional experience into visual expression. My subject matter ranges through Concepts, Flora, Human and Scenic Terrains. These hold the world’s most relevant history, and I strive to answer my questions about how we are affected. What is happening beneath the surface? How can I show experience before knowing? Who or what existed before? Using color, line, layers, and multimedia as exploration in each painting, I work to convey a sense of meaning, universal and personal. Although I begin with a semi-planned approach, each painting eventually becomes both more spontaneous and more labor intensive than expected until achieving its own ineffable yet satisfactory completion.
